Ferme-Château de Cordey & SPA

We left early, though we couldn’t cancel, and weren’t offered any compensation. The room had a general musty smell, with musty sheets and towels, cobwebs and flies. There was mold and grime on the tarp above the bed, plus odd stains and a very worn carpet. After showering, the bathroom floor got quite wet. That wasn’t a big problem, but the foot towel wrung out brownish-black water that smelled awful. I’d suggest staying somewhere else if you want a relaxing holiday.

It was truly lovely staying here on June 6, 2024. I couldn’t find anything closer to the Normandy beaches.

Morgan, the owner, gave us lots of information and advice about places to visit. We used the indoor pool and Sauna/Jacuzzi every day. The Gite was spacious and had everything our group of eight needed. The surrounding area is beautiful, and the chateau used to have a drawbridge and still has a moat.

We only booked two nights and ended up wishing we’d had two weeks. From the start, our hosts made us feel welcome. We had lovely conversations, and he made it clear we could come to him whenever we needed anything. The place felt like another age, but with today’s comforts. The grounds were peaceful, and we really enjoyed the pool and sauna. There’s a cute animal couple in the see; we were always glad to spot them, and they didn’t seem scared of us. We were lucky to get the room in the old tower. It was beautiful watching the sun go down before bed, and we loved all the details, especially the tapis with Jean D’Arc. You can feel how much care the host put into the room. The bathtub is huge, easily big enough for two, and a lovely way to finish the day. Breakfast in the old room was a treat, with a different kind of bred each morning, always fresh fruit, and something for every taste. If you get cold easily, there are plenty of blankets, or bring a Pullover. As the sun went down, we sat in the chairs in front of our tower with a glass of Cider and felt incredibly lucky. Thanks to our hosts for such an awesome stay. We’re looking forward to seeing you again.
