Mas Les Escourtades Chambres D'hotes (Adults Only)

The private gardens are a lovely touch, with deckchairs and views of the vineyards and Provence hills. The pool has a view that’s almost 360 degrees. Inside, the two guest rooms in this traditional Mas have high ceilings and have been beautifully renovated, with a sofa area, large bathroom, Nespresso machine, and all the extras you’d expect from a luxury hotel in Paris. The charming Swiss couple who run “Escourtade” keep everything exceptionally clean and posh. A real gem, and probably the best price to quality ratio we’ve had in Provence. We’ll stay for three weeks next time. Five stars!

The breakfast was fantastic, with fresh juice, a different inspired smoothie each day, and a great selection of the usual boutique hotel fare. We had a wonderful holiday here. The house and pool are charming, and the large rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated. There’s a 360-degree view of the vallée de la cèze too. Thanks so much, Daniel.

Daniel was a great host, friendly and interested in just about everything, maybe football excepted. He still found a way for me to watch the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool. The place feels like a boutique property, with so much care put into details that don’t really show in the photos. Inside, the rooms have a warm, homey feel, and the hillside setting is wonderfully peaceful, with picturesque views. “Mas Les Escourtades” is a great place to unwind and explore the region, especially if you’re past your twenties and not looking for bars and clubs. It’s worth planning what you want to see, and you’ll need a car. Pay attention to the property's homepage warning to leave the D980 only at the “Mas Les Escortades” signpost. I missed it and navigation took me through woods and small villages. With a motorhome, you could get stuck in those narrow side streets. Stay on the D980, get to “Mas Les Escortades,” and enjoy Provance.

The hosts were kind and flexible, even changing breakfast time to fit my work schedule. This regional farmhouse is well placed for visiting the area's lovely villages. My room was spotless, nicely decorated, and furnished with quality pieces. The bathroom was comfortable, with a large walk-in shower. The pool must be beautiful, though I visited a little too early in the season to try it. I highly recommend the place.
