Hotel Du Golf

The setting is lovely, and the hotel seems to have a lot going for it, including a sauna and jacuzzi. The owner was friendly when we arrived in the evening, but the stay still left us feeling disappointed and misled. Flies were everywhere: five in our room, landing on the plates at dinner, and around the breakfast buffet. We had booked a €198 room without breakfast. At check-in, the owner asked our child’s age and said breakfast was “prepared individually.” I said clearly that we hadn’t booked breakfast. The next morning, when we called, we were told it was “automatically included.” At dinner we heard again that it was included if we ate there. In the end, though, we were charged €20 per adult and €14 for our 3-year-old for a basic buffet of boiled eggs, pastries, and cold cuts, with flies around it. By morning the mood had changed. Different staff, stone-faced, told us, “You booked it yourself.” There was no way to prove otherwise, and that soured what might have been a nice stay in a beautiful setting.
