Dominique Colonna

The setting by the river in the beautiful restonica valley couldn’t have suited me better. It’s a small property, but has a bit of a resort feel. I first booked it as a base for hiking, and Dominique Colonna turned out to be much more than that. The standard room was on the small side and prices are high even in the shoulder season, but as a solo traveller I was fine with the room. Everything feels high quality, from the bed and pillows to the bathroom, amenities, outdoor furniture, and pool shades. The breakfast was the highlight for me. At 27,50 Euro, there was a great sweet and savoury selection, including different quiches each morning and a granola buffet, plus good coffee and a really well-coordinated service team. I’d definitely stay here again on my next trip to Corsica.

The river runs right by the hotel, and you can follow it as far as you like. It’s a beautiful place to explore and a lovely spot to unwind close to nature. The rooms fit in well with the surroundings, were clean, and had amazing views. There are plenty of places around the property to sit, read, or have a drink. Breakfast was amazing, and I had one of the best massages I’ve ever had. I’d recommend booking one if you can.

The staff were wonderful, and Nathalie was especially cool, though I’m not sure whether she’s the owner or manager. We had a few logistical problems unrelated to the hotel, and the staff went out of their way to help. It wasn’t cheap, but what we got for the price was outstanding. We stayed three nights in May 2024 and loved everything: the room, setting, breakfast, bar, and the restaurant across the way at the other hotel, Auberge Restronica. Our room looked over the river, and sitting on the balcony to take in the surroundings was lovely. The pool was much appreciated after a long hike in Gorge Tavignano.

We stayed two nights and only wished we’d booked a third. The staff were so friendly and helpful with every question and request. The hotel seemed full, but it never felt crowded and everyone had room to themselves. Breakfast at 7 while watching the sun come up behind the mountains was lovely. I’d definitely recommend a massage in a Cube. You can walk along the river and swim there during the day, too. The rooms were spacious and clean. We absolutely loved it and will come back when we’re in Corsica.
