Logis de la Helberdière

We spent our evenings talking and reading aloud, which was especially nice with no TV or internet. The hosts were lovely, and although we knew little French and they knew little English, we managed to communicate. They let us use the open kitchen in the detached main building to cook food we'd picked up at the local grocery. Our turret studio was a bit chilly, but the heating worked and made it cozy. The bed is upstairs, with the shower and toilet downstairs. There's plenty of interesting history here, with photos and old documents the host showed us. You'll need a car for almost anything, but the quiet retreat was really relaxing. A great base for exploring the French countryside.

The owner told us stories about the castle and the area, and even welcomed us with drinks. We loved how peaceful it was, along with the unusual setting and the feeling of being somewhere completely different. Our room was in the beautiful tower, overlooking the moat. Breakfast was excellent, served in a lovely room with very tasteful decor. Thank you for such a warm welcome and hospitality. Please keep this place as majestic as it is.

Gaston made our stay special with his humor, stories, generosity, and kindness. The tower room was comfortable, and the bathroom was superb. We also got to see another room, which looked just as welcoming. It's a distinctive place and a great choice if you're after quiet and a change of scenery.

The breakfast was generous, served in a magnificent room with an exceptional view of the gardens. Our room was beautifully decorated, and the bedding was perfect. The host was charming and funny, and the authentic setting and peaceful atmosphere won us over right away. Definitely worth a visit, it felt like a little bit of magic.
