La Maison du Grand Four en Bourgogne, Au coeur de Vignes, Piscine et Sauna

Pauline and the young woman in the tasting room were both so friendly and helpful. The gîte is right beside the tasting room at this wonderful château, in a beautiful location. It’s comfortable and spacious, with a lovely countryside elegance. We hope to stay again on our next trip to France!

Our family had a really relaxing break in Burgundy wine country. We stayed in a nicely renovated barn with lots of room to eat and unwind, plus spacious en suite bathrooms. The sauna and pool were a hit with everyone.

The beds were wonderfully comfortable, the house mostly newly furnished, and Pauline's was a lovely base for our week in Burgundy with our Boxer and warm, welcoming hosts. Our dog was very happy too, though it took some effort to keep him in the living room and garden, as pets aren't allowed in the bedrooms. We’ll definitely return, and are already looking forward to it! 😘 We mostly cook for ourselves, so we did find a few things wanting: there wasn’t much food storage, the kitchen utensils were fairly basic, like the sort you’d get at a hardware store, and cleaning supplies were lacking. There was no bucket, mop, or vacuum, and one broom wasn’t enough to clean the house, especially with a dog. For our sports clothes and longer stays, a tumble dryer alongside the washing machine would be ideal. There is a clothes rack or line in the garden.

The hosts made us feel incredibly welcome, and everything from the estate tour to renting the house went perfectly. We had wonderful weather, discovered a magnificent region, and enjoyed a peaceful getaway among the vineyards. I highly recommend it.
