Lagnonu

I came here for a wedding and didn’t stay overnight, but the setting was gorgeous. The views were exceptional, and all the wood gave the place a really nice atmosphere.

The food isn't cheap, but it was among the best I’ve had in Corsica. Lagnonu is also a wonderfully peaceful spot, surrounded by nature and with amazing sea views.

I loved photographing a wedding here. The place looks gorgeous, right by the sea with private access, which made for fantastic photos. The decor was lovely, and the staff were helpful in putting together a great event.

We were told two weeks before our September 2022 arrival that both of the hotel’s main chefs had quit suddenly, so there would be no restaurant or room service during our stay. I was surprised, but felt sorry for the owner. When we arrived, though, we found two chefs and two cooks working in the open kitchen and thought the chefs might have returned. A candid waiter explained that management had lied to us: the hotel is normally closed in September, and service isn’t available. They serve restaurant and room service in July and August, while in September the chefs cook for events that are important to the business. Our first impression had already been poor. The 700 EUR suite had expensive ornaments, but it was uncomfortable, with nowhere to put luggage, no shower, a dirty private pool, and unhygienic toilets. It was far from the facilities, difficult to reach, and the path was a dirt road. At the bar we got an unfriendly welcome, there were very few drinks to choose from, and no snacks. We were tired, so we went back to the suite without complaining. After a bad night because of noise from the pool cascades, we were offered a continental breakfast with eggs and bacon for more than 100 euros. When I told the owner directly how disappointed I was by the situation, which had not been made clear when we booked, she became verbally and violently aggressive and told us to leave immediately. She followed us, screaming, then went back to the kitchen and returned furious, raising her voice. At one point she even followed my husband into the men's restroom and went into the toilet to keep escalating things. Her behavior startled me and left us in shock. I can only imagine how the other family there with a child felt. This was unacceptable behavior, and all of it followed simply from my expressing our disappointment and feeling that the hotel had not been transparent when we booked. It was the worst and most aggressive travel experience of my life.
