Our Alès Langogne train was canceled because of the blockage on September 10, 2025, so we called to cancel our stay at the Villakako guesthouse five days ahead, on Friday, September 5. The owner still cashed our 90 euro deposit check on September 9. We don't think that was very honest.
The owner was thoughtful and friendly, and when we needed to head out very early, he had breakfast ready so we wouldn't go on an empty stomach. We both slept really well. The place is lovely, clean, and well looked after. Thanks so much for that kindness! =)
Breakfast was a nice touch, especially the fresh fruit juice. We were welcomed warmly, and enjoyed a very good meal: an excellent mixed salad to start, then a main course with homemade fries. A lovely guesthouse where we had a pleasant stay, one I'd recommend.
The cooking was excellent and natural, and the owner was friendly with a great sense of humor. We were made to feel very welcome.
Parking could be a problem if every room is taken, and the bedding wasn't great. Breakfast was really meager, barely enough butter for a single slice of toast. We won't be back. Meh.
