Disney Sequoia Lodge + Tickets

Our room was small, as you'd expect, and I did find it odd that the TV package had no Disney shows in English, despite the hotel's lovely French feel. The place has a roomy, warm log-cabin atmosphere, which gave it a special Christmas feel during our visit. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and check-in and checkout were seamless. The same hotel key cards let you into both parks for your whole stay, which was brilliant. It's under a kilometre from the Disney Parks, with easy walking routes and a free shuttle if you need one.

We booked the Golden Forest Club and really enjoyed having the lounge. The room had a sweet Bambi theme, comfortable beds, and a stunning lake-side view from the seventh floor. I stayed with my mom and two pre-teens, and we all loved it. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was closed, which was a little disappointing, though we understood since we'd chosen the off season to avoid big crowds. We walked to the park every day, about 10 minutes, and it was a lovely route by the lake and through Disney Village. I'd absolutely recommend the hotel and stay again.

We had breakfast and dinner on our first night at Hunters Grill, and liked the buffet options. All in all, it was a great stay. Sequoia Lodge is about a 10-minute walk from Disney Village, with a pleasant lakeside route. When we arrived around noon, the staff were really pleasant. Our room wasn't ready yet, so we headed straight to the park and came back later to settle in. The rooms were fine for us, since we mostly just sleep there and spend the rest of the time in the parks or Disney Village.

The food in the park is expensive and plentiful, though it won't suit everyone, and some of the main rides had problems during our stay. I also noticed too many dead ends, not enough clear signs, and too little seating for older visitors. At the hotel, the rooms were clean and a good size, breakfast and afternoon tea were lovely, and the staff were generally nice, though they weren't always Florida-happy. The location was great, just five minutes from the park entrance.
