Citadines La Défense Paris

The rooms are very small, and they only clean once a week. Bathrooms are stained and the ceiling color is peeling. They ask for the full stay in advance. The air conditioning didn’t work, so I had to keep the windows open. A pathetic place, just about okay for one night. An Indian dharmashala is better than this hotel room and property.

The room was clean and had complete facilities. The location is especially good if you want to explore Paris by metro, with Esplanade de La Defense station very close by. The malls, 4temps and CNIT, are an easy walk with no traffic, and there are convenience stores, groceries, boutiques, pharmacies, and plenty of restaurants around.

Very clean room, a comfortable bed, and friendly staff, but the space is small and efficient. The window is small and there’s no view, so it feels a bit like a prison cell. It’s still quite expensive for such a simple room, though cheap compared with other hotels nearby. The location works well for business and is conveniently next to a metro stop, but I wouldn’t recommend it for tourism.

The apartment was clean and we liked the kitchenette, especially the large fridge, so we made our own breakfast instead of taking the hotel breakfast. Public transport is excellent: the Yellow Line stop is about 150m away and runs into central Paris, with stops at the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre. There are plenty of shops nearby, including a pharmacy next door and a full shopping centre about a 10-minute walk along the La Defence esplanade towards the Grande Arche. It’s easy to find the hotel by metro because the station is at the same raised level, but taxis can struggle since the whole La Defence esplanade sits several stories above street level. Our driver had to ask for directions, and a local bloke got in and showed him the way up. If that happens, call the hotel and they can guide the driver. They told us they do it all the time at check-in. Nearby restaurants are open on work nights, but this is a business district and it gets very quiet on weekends, with few places open on Saturday or Sunday evenings. Fridays are lively with after-work drinks.
