Hôtel Le Lana

Service was excellent across room service, concierge, restaurant and bar, and the ski room. The hotel is close to all the major shops, and the breakfast was varied and good. We stayed in a suite. The rooms have been renovated, but still felt a bit underwhelming; the steam room in the bathroom was quite nice. Compared with other hotels in Courchevel 1850, I thought it was good value for money, and I'd highly recommend it.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for a holiday or business trip. For the price, there are better places with higher standards and better service, and this felt like a waste of money. This is the second time I’ve had a problem with the staff: last year, someone at reception treated my child similarly. It makes me wonder whether management allows this kind of behavior. On 15 February at 9:50 a.m., I called reservations and spoke to someone called Virginie, if I got the name right. She first said there were no rooms, then acknowledged availability after I mentioned that Booking.com showed rooms. She was rude from the moment she answered and hung up while we were still talking. That unprofessional response cost the hotel a customer and a corporate relationship. If this is acceptable to management, I can only imagine what the rest of the staff are like. It’s sad to see people like this in a customer-facing job.

I’ve stayed at Le lana for two years in a row, and both visits were lovely. The ski-in, ski-out service is perfect, and I especially liked the club sandwich and hot chocolate. I wanted to come back this year, but unfortunately it’s fully booked.

The housekeeping and restaurant teams were great, and I can’t fault their service. The room, though, smelled awful, and when I asked the front desk to move me, they refused without showing any concern for my comfort. I expected much better from a hotel with this reputation and history. The front desk staff were rude and dismissive from the start, treating me like an inconvenience instead of a paying guest. For the price and prestige, that was a terrible experience. There are plenty of other good hotels nearby in courchevel, and I won’t stay here again.
