Watching the ski slopes from bed through our lake view was magical. The rooms were lovely, spotless, and carefully maintained. Everywhere in the hotel had such a positive, welcoming feel, and our stay at Hotel Lake in Courchevel 1850 was unforgettable. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh-squeezed juices, great pancakes, croissants, and plenty of other quality choices, all arranged very well. The team were always kind, cheerful, and ready to help. Jerome, the hotel Manager, stood out for being warm, smiling, present, and committed to both guests and staff. The gentleman on security at the entrance was also very polite and kind, which added to the sense of comfort and safety. It was a pleasure staying here, and we'd gladly recommend Hotel Lake to anyone visiting Courchevel 1850. Warm regards to the whole team.

The slopes looked amazing from the room, and having a Ski Shop right on the property was a real plus. Check-in was quick and easy. Breakfast was just OK, though the tartiflette was very good. We stayed for three nights. At night, water moving through the pipes was loud enough to be horrible if you're a light sleeper. The Front Desk Team made a few mistakes during our stay. Nothing dramatic, but I work in the hotel industry too, so the small details matter to me. The room could use a bit of refreshing. It's a good hotel for a few days, close to the slopes.

Our room keycards stopped working after every single use, and now we're stranded outside in the middle of the night with our things locked inside and our flight only a few hours away. Four French managers and technicians have come, but nobody has been able to fix the system. The hotel is also falsely advertised as ski-in/ski-out. You still have to walk to the lifts and slopes. We were refused suitable ski boots because our feet were too big for the sizes they had, and were rudely told to “go buy your own boots.” This has been an absolutely terrible hotel experience. I wouldn't recommend it even if it were the last place on earth to sleep.

The staff were very nice, but the rest was a mess. There was no water in the rooms, the shower splashed all over the sink, and the food was bad. I stayed two days ago and left my jacket in the room at checkout. When I called two hours later, they confirmed they had it and gave me the color, brand, and description. But as soon as I sent someone to collect it, they said it was gone. Since then they haven't answered or returned my calls, despite my trying numerous times. They steal.

A room with a lake view gives you the best view of the slopes in Courchevel. Getting to the slopes is easy, and there's a ski shop in the hotel. We were welcomed warmly, and the Champagnes at the bar were incredible. Very good value for Courchevel.
