Manali Lodge by Alpine Resorts

We stayed at Manali Lodge in Courchevel 1650 for 3 nights, from 25-28 January. The stay cost €7,000, and I paid the required €4,000 security deposit in good faith, though it already seemed excessive. We checked out on 28 January with the property in good condition, and no damage was mentioned. But by 31 January, the deposit still hadn't been returned. When I followed up, they said they were still checking with housekeeping, days after checkout, without a written report, explanation, or timeline. That's unacceptable and highly unprofessional. During our stay, the hotel paid €100 for a transfer in the middle of the night because of a special situation while we weren't at the hotel. Even though they were holding €4,000 of our money, management made a big issue of the €100 and insisted we come straight to reception to pay it, rather than deducting it from the deposit or handling it reasonably. We had to wait until we got back to the hotel. This showed poor guest handling, a lack of professionalism, and questionable financial practices. I'd advise future guests to be extremely cautious about deposits, extra charges, and payment handling. Prompt refunds and transparency matter in hospitality, and I didn't get that here.

Manali_Lodge is Airbnb, period. It's shockingly odd that guests are expected to empty their own trash bins and buy basic supplies at nearby supermarkets because the hotel keeps running out of things. Look at the newest reviews. Accounts with the “Local Guide” label get 5 ⭐️ (the orange badge), while regular accounts leave extremely bad reviews. I'll let you decide what to make of that.

The restaurant staff on the third floor often got our orders wrong or forgot them, and the check-in and check-out hours were unusual. The rooms and furniture were run-down, and cleaning wasn’t done properly. The staff were exceptionally rude. A terrible choice for a stay in Courchevel.

The slopes are a good fit for beginners and intermediate skiers, and the hotel makes getting on and off the slopes easy. The ski room and service were spot on. I’d happily recommend it and come back.
