Château du Mourre du Tendre

We especially enjoyed the wine tasting, with the young, passionate winemaker explaining things as we went. The owner was kind and easy to talk to. It’s a very quiet place, surrounded by trees, with a roughly one-hectare park and a huge pool to relax by. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. We’d happily come back, though it’s best to book ahead.

The wine was really high quality, and the B&B had amenities you’d expect from a 4-star hotel. It’s a lovely little spot in Provence. The only frustration is how little availability there is, so book several months ahead if you want a room.

The setting is lovely, and we were quite pleased when we first arrived. But the rooms had no air conditioning, and the pool water was pretty poor, greenish and foamy. The owner didn’t apologize and came across as lacking humility. Such a shame.

The wine was excellent quality, and I’d definitely recommend it. I also found the place itself very pleasant, with a lovely setting for unwinding and a very friendly hostess. We had a really enjoyable stay.
