The stream was lovely to hear, and there was hardly any road noise. We were in a tent on the grassy camping area, where the picnic benches were a welcome extra since they’re so uncommon at European campsites. Coux is an easy walk and worth a look, though its restaurant was closed during our visit. We also enjoyed visiting Privas, with several nice places for dinner on a terrace. The hosts were nice and the atmosphere was pleasant enough that we stayed two nights instead of just one.

There’s a good amount of shade at this small family campsite, which has a few rental tents and mobile homes alongside its camping pitches. The managers were friendly, though they only speak French, and the sanitary facilities were kept tidy. When we visited in mid-May, around five pitches were occupied.

We pulled in with our campervan and paid €18 for two people, electricity included. It’s a quiet little campsite beside the river, and you can watch kayaks pass by. The welcome was friendly, and the sanitary facilities were clean, which is unfortunately not something I’ve found often in France. The buildings are open.

The river beside the campsite kept the kids entertained as they tried to catch fish and frogs, and the pool was a real treat when it was over 40 degrees. It was a peaceful, family-friendly place, and the managers were friendly. We especially loved the homemade cocktails, with drinks on the patio every evening, and the local beer was very good too. They really know their stuff. We had a good family stay and are tempted to come back next year. Thanks!
