The architecture is magnificent, and the forest is close by, though it’s a long way from the village. Getting there is difficult because the accommodation sits so high up. The extra services are expensive.

The rooms are clean, functional, and well equipped, and it’s a very nice place. But the noise spoiled my stay a little. The insulation needs attention between floors: you can hear heels echoing below. When neighbors ignore the quiet hours and drag chairs around on the terrace, it’s hardly relaxing. Such a shame.

This was my fifth stay, and the staff were friendly and professional as usual. The region is beautiful, with lots of villages to explore, and I’ll see you next year. I do regret how neglected Cransac and Aubin look; they seem to have been abandoned by the department and the region.
