Le Grand Barrois

We booked Le Nid du Coucou for a night while visiting friends for a wedding nearby, and ended up wanting to come back for a weekend. The rooms were clean, unusual, and so comfortable. There are two bathrooms in the room we booked, but our group wanted to stay close together, so Fred set up another available room for us at no extra cost. He was thoughtful about everything, even booking us a table at the local crêperie for lunch. The house and gardens are beautiful, in a quiet little village with a few places to eat. The website photos really don't show how nice it is. Breakfast was set out indoors in case of rain, but we ate outside under the parasol and took our time. Fred made us feel very welcome throughout.

The guest house, le nid du coucou, is spacious and set up with lots of beds for up to seven people, two bathrooms and toilets, towels and bedding, plus wifi, TV, a microwave, cooking plates, and a refrigerator stocked with wine, soft drinks, espresso coffee, and more. It also has a nice garden where you can sit and unwind. Breakfast was splendid, the homemade jams were tasty, and the hosts were fantastic, always helpful with questions or requests. The town is quiet and relaxed, with several supermarkets nearby. It's a handy base for Disney and Paris: the station parking is right by the Disney entrance, about a 15-minute drive on easy roads with no traffic jams. We found it much better value than other hotels, with more space and much better service. We'll definitely come again.

Fred is really understanding, and trex the dog is awesome. The place is very nice, has everything you need, and is very close to Disney. We had a great dinner too. Thank you!

The rooms are great, and the house has a lot of charm. Dinner was a perfect fit for a relaxed weekend, so be sure to take that option.
