Estafete

Our dog was welcome, especially with the hosts' children, and there are plenty of outings nearby, from pretty villages and castles to viewpoints over the Dordogne valley. We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the place properly. Set on a peaceful little hill, Estafête has beautiful views, and at night there are countless stars. The renovated stone building has cozy, comfortable, clean rooms, with fruit trees, berry bushes and chickens around it, supplying ingredients for homemade jams and eggs. Some evenings the hosts serve a wonderful three-course dinner on the covered terrace when the weather is warm. The food is fresh, carefully sourced from local producers, and the menu is thoughtfully put together. Drinks and hospitality are lovely too, all in a friendly, familiar atmosphere.

The room had an eclectic feel and lots of nice little touches. Everything was spotless, the owner was lovely, and the food was excellent. We really loved staying here and would definitely recommend this guest house.

Dinner is well worth booking ahead for. Tom is an excellent cook, and we loved every minute at Estafête. We came across it on Google Maps and booked on a whim, staying two nights on our way back to Switzerland after two weeks camping on the Atlantic coast. We were two families with three children, and could tell as soon as we arrived that the place was special. The rooms are furnished with care and attention to every detail. There’s a huge 17-metre pool with a fantastic countryside view, a jacuzzi, and places to sit and relax. It was unbelievably good, and we were thrilled. Later we heard that Tom had spent 15 years renovating the property with his father. What Tom and Inge have made here is amazing. We’ll definitely stop again, even if it means taking a detour. We’re sure their hard work will bring them success, and we’d highly recommend a few days here. It was unforgettable. All the best to you both. We’ll be back! Tom and Inge were great hosts and served delicious breakfasts and dinners, with lots of local produce. They also accommodated a gluten allergy without taking away from the food, which we really appreciated. Our three nights at Estafête were memorable, with fantastic service. The rooms are modern and have all the facilities you need. The place has wonderful views over the Dordogne valley and is close to the beautiful historic city of Turenne. Until next time.
