Le Mas D'Hélène

We spent almost a week here to tackle Mont Ventoux and the surrounding area by bike. The hotel has a great location, a nice atmosphere, good food and excellent service from Stephane and crew. It’s a lovely place if you respect the other guests, the natural surroundings and the quiet setting.

The rooms and staff were nice, the food was good, and the pool area had comfortable terraces and chairs. The approach road is very narrow. Luckily there isn’t much traffic, but two cars have very little room to pass each other. In the dark, it’s a real challenge.

The new owners are building on an old tradition. It’s good already, and I think it will get even better.

We chose half-board, and the plat du jour was always very tasty, with both a starter and dessert. Drinks were reasonably priced, service was efficient, and breakfast in the morning was okay too. It’s a shame the bar doesn’t open in the afternoon, especially since there’s no fridge in the room and nowhere to get cold drinks. A vending machine might help. The attractive pool looked inviting, but the steps are very deep and make it hard for someone with a physical disability to get out. It may seem like a small detail, but it makes a real difference for anyone with reduced mobility. The hotel is in a beautiful, peaceful spot in nature, where all you hear is dozens of birds singing. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for quiet, a lovely view of Mont Ventoux and a central base for exploring Provence. A special thanks to Sandrine, who always made dinner feel pleasant. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday evenings, but there are enough other places to eat in Vaison, Malaucène and elsewhere. Our dog was welcome throughout the estate, which was a big bonus for us.
