The dining room is set in the old market, with vaulted stone ceilings and plenty of period details. We were warmly welcomed by the owners and staff, and the service made us feel very special. The food is in a league of its own, with local ingredients in many dishes and vegetables on the plate. No burgers in sight, which was a welcome change. We’d eaten here on an earlier visit, and this time added a two-night stay. Our room was very comfortable, reached by a winding stone staircase and overlooking the courtyard. Private parking is available too. We’ll come back when we’re in the area again.

The room faced the street, but we barely heard anything at night. The bed was very comfortable, and the linen was excellent. This is a genuinely old building, so there are steep stone stairs and narrow corridors. Inside feels just as you’d expect from the exterior, and the staff made us feel welcome, though at first we couldn’t tell the identical twins apart. I’d passed the hotel on earlier trips to Normandy and wanted to try it. My wife and I stayed three days. We’d planned dinner for just the first night, but enjoyed it enough to eat there on the next two nights as well. A proper old-fashioned French hotel restaurant. Recommended.

We stopped for lunch while cycling nearby. The traditional food was delicious, and the service was top quality. A beautiful dining room, too. Highly recommended.

The dining is a real highlight, with amazing breakfasts and dinners and some uniquely delicious choices. The location is handy for the Normandy beaches, Bayeux, and Caen. I’ve stayed here four times since 2015, travelling from Canada each time to visit Normandy, and the family-run business has always delivered impeccable service. The rooms have been renovated since my last visit and are wonderful. It’s a historic building with stairs and no elevator, but that’s part of its charm. I highly recommend staying or having a meal here if you’re in the area! 🍁

Dinner is served in a restaurant that feels like an art museum, and the food is tasty and good. I wouldn’t call it as superb as some other reviews do, though. The room was basic, but tidy, with a good bed. Breakfast was basic too, but tasty. The setting is great.
