We came just for dinner, not to stay, and the food was EXCELLENT. Locals recommended it for meat, and the entrecote and andoillette, their specialities, were both really good. We started with the mixed cold cuts plate, which was a great choice too. Generous portions. Highly recommend!

We had a hearty breakfast with the other guests the next morning, and the couple running the place and their two daughters were lovely and caring. I’d happily recommend stopping here for lunch or staying overnight. Although the menu leans heavily toward meat, they served us amazing moules and a filling camembert salad, both with outstanding homemade fries. The gite has very small rooms, but it was an excellent base for hiking the GR34 around Cap de la chèvre, with loop routes available. There are three separate shared shower rooms and toilets, plus a common living room with plenty of table games you can borrow from the café/restaurant downstairs.

The location works really well for hiking, cycling and ocean swimming. Morgat is about an hour’s walk away and has everything you need. The shared kitchen and bathrooms were high quality, and there’s a pleasant outdoor area to relax in. Food at the gite restaurant was good, with large portions, and locals seemed to like it. Dinner prices were fair. Breakfast was simple, mostly bread, jam and fruit. The welcome could have been warmer, as some reviews said. We arrived at 10am after an overnight ferry, too early to check in, and would have liked to join the other guests for breakfast. At least we could get coffee. We were told to return at 5pm and were able to leave our bags, but at 5 the door was locked and nobody was there. We finally checked in around 6:30/7pm. My wife had tried hard to coordinate with the gite beforehand, though maybe something got lost in translation. A few things could be improved: the room was very hot, so air conditioning might soon be needed if summer heatwaves become more frequent. Opening the window at night let in a swarm of mosquitoes, so netting would help a lot. A can of WD40 would quickly sort out the squeaky doors. Thanks for having us, we hope to return someday!

The people were lovely, the price was fair, and it’s a perfect place for traditional French food. If I ever come back to Bretagne, I’d definitely eat here again.

Love this place, and the food’s great.
