Loz'air Randonnées

The cabin itself was clean, practical, and very thoughtfully laid out. But the stay felt tightly controlled, and the manager came across as cold. Her husband, who brings the baskets, was much friendlier. There wasn’t much flexibility with the schedule either: breakfast had to be between 7:45 am and 8:00 am, and checkout was 10:00 am, or 10:30 am if she was lenient. An 8 am breakfast is disappointing when you’re hoping to go for a hike, and the boxed orange juice wasn’t very good. For that price, whole oranges would have been better. The welcome and the many rules didn’t feel right for a €250 overnight stay. We were told where to put our suitcases, what not to touch, and exactly when to leave. A €400 security deposit was required for one night, and the payment check was cashed on the day of the rental. It felt like a lot of restrictions and a strong focus on business and profitability. Such a shame, because the cabin was so nice.

The view over Mont Lozère was fantastic, and we ate really well. We stopped at the Loz'Air guesthouse for the last leg of the Stevenson Trail. The welcome was perfect, we slept very well, and the meals were excellent.

A beautiful view and such a peaceful setting, with charming accommodations. The home-cooked food was plentiful and high quality, and breakfast was superb too. I’d recommend this experience 300% to anyone who wants to be surrounded by nature.

Myriam opened the door early so we could get warm, which was much appreciated. We had a lovely night with friends at the Bérénice cabin & spa, perched in the trees. The wood-burning stove gave off gentle heat, and the jacuzzi was very welcome after several days of hiking. We were served a generous meal and breakfast in the cabin. Thank you!
