B & B Florence et Francis

The Booking.com rating feels too high, the reviews didn’t match what we found. I wouldn’t have booked if I’d seen the bathroom. It was dated, with mold on the tiles and shower head, and cleanliness overall was disappointing. The outlets beside the bed were awkwardly placed. They should charge more and renovate the bathroom.

The hosts were very kind and helpful, and even offered vegetables from their garden. The two dogs are used to guests, in case that matters to anyone. There’s a pool, an indoor dining table with six chairs, and outside a table for more than ten with a barbecue. There was also an American-style outdoor kitchen, but it was very dirty. The converted garage was cool at night despite the heatwave, and the place was very quiet. It’s about half an hour from Narbonne. TV only gets French channels, which may be an issue if you don’t speak French. There were some problems with the accommodation: it smelled a little damp or musty, possibly because wastewater is pumped out instead of draining directly to the sewer. The shower was clogged, the water smelled bad, and there was some mold. The long, narrow windows sit at ground level outside, and the furniture had a little dust on it. Otherwise, it was very good.

We had a fantastic bike ride, then cleaned and reinflated our bikes and cooled off in the pool. The flowers and vegetable garden were lovely too. Everything was impeccable, and Francis gave us such a warm, friendly welcome. Thanks again, we’ll be back! From the four mountain bikers and their two caretakers 👍👍👍😉😉😉

The big garden and swimming pool make this a great choice for a family stay. Florence and Francis are both really friendly and welcoming.
