The relaxed atmosphere is a big part of why I love coming here. We’ve become friends with guests who return every year, and I’m already looking forward to going back. I’ve spent my holidays here for six years and wouldn’t choose anywhere else. I tried several other places for a horse riding holiday, but this one won me over completely. The people are nice, the animals are great, and the riding is fantastic. From horseback, the view down over the forest is magnificent. You can take riding lessons if you’re new, or a jumping lesson if you have a bit more experience, as well as trail rides. And there’s plenty to do without riding too, like visiting nearby village markets, canoeing, or just enjoying the view. For an amazing holiday, this is the place for me!

A lovely place, though not for posh people. Hans is a charming host with a great sense of humour and plenty of stories. The dogs, cats, and horses are lovely too. Sure to come back.

Hans is very friendly, and the horses are good. The rides are sensible and well suited to children. I was looking for a registered riding centre with good quality horses for my daughter, and we’ll come back!

This isn’t a 3 or 4-star hotel, but there are thousands of stars facing the forest, with magnificent horses all around. It’s an ideal place to recharge in nature. Hans welcomed us with a smile, warmly and simply. The meals were delicious, and the small, simple room was just right. If you’re after good cheer and cuddles with horses or dogs in a splendid setting, this is the place. Thanks for the warm welcome and a lovely weekend. See you very soon!

We spent a wonderful week as a family in a gîte at Hanz’s place. The charming regional stone building sits in peaceful, refreshing greenery. It sleeps five, has comfortable amenities, and a lovely terrace overlooking the garden. It’s well placed for exploring the Dordogne Noir and visiting local villages and castles. Hanz was welcoming and charming. He greeted us with a drink and was always glad to answer our questions. Our Ural dog was warmly welcomed too. We also had a fantastic horseback ride nearby, suited to our level, with some exhilarating gallops. The horses were easy to handle and generous. Thanks, Hanz, for a wonderful holiday. We’ll definitely be back!
