The hostess made this first B&B stay easy for us. We usually worry about feeling crowded or disturbing the peace, but she was friendly and discreet while still being around whenever we needed advice, especially about places to visit and restaurants. We had a lovely, easy conversation and learned about life at the castle. The room was enormous, with a wardrobe almost as big as the room itself. Everything was spotless, the bed was immaculate, and we slept so well. I’m into photography, so that beautiful book with the sublime cover was a fantastic little extra. We also enjoyed the pretty park, where the horses came over to say hello. Breakfast was with a group of teachers. It was simple and could have had a little more savory food, but the porcelain and silverware were absolutely sublime. The castle was a bit hard to spot when we arrived, though that’s a small detail. We came for our first wedding anniversary and had a wonderful stay. Thanks for the welcome, the conversations, and being so available. You were perfect. We’ll come back.
The rooms were so well heated, and the breakfast room felt even better than home, which we hadn’t expected in such an idyllic setting. We stayed at Château de la Vénerie with our family, including our 24-year-old son, on the night of October 31, 2023. The welcome was very warm, and the place itself is splendid. There’s a small restaurant just a four-minute drive away. We loved our time there.
We loved the huge, well-equipped rooms and the beautiful bathrooms. The owner was lovely and very professional, and breakfast was perfect. My wife and I had a great weekend there. I highly recommend it.
We loved our stay. Véronique, our hostess, welcomed us warmly and took great care of her guests. The castle has huge, comfortable rooms that feel authentic, and it sits in a park with its own moat. It really felt like paradise.
The property is magnificent and beautifully maintained. During our short break in Beaujolais, the owner welcomed us so warmly and suggested two restaurants. We weren’t disappointed. Thank you so much for a lovely stay at Château de La Vénerie.
