Gite Bois-Cannelle

We were very comfortable as a family of two adults and a 3-year-old child. The host was welcoming, discreet, and kind. The setting is beautiful, with tropical greenery and birdsong, and it’s well placed for sightseeing. They also have masks and snorkels and a cooler available for free.

We felt right at home, and the private terrace and pool area were lovely. Anne Sophie was thoughtful and helpful, providing everything we needed for the baby, mosquito repellent, and kitchen basics like salt, oil, and dish soap. The location works well for exploring Basse-Terre, and Deshaies is nearby for a sunset drink, though you do need a car. Breakfast was excellent, but became a bit repetitive after more than 3-4 days. The downside was having no hot water for several days because the system is solar-powered. She gave us a small bathtub so we could bathe our baby with water heated in the kitchen. Anne-Sophie was a fantastic host. We also enjoyed the little outdoor kitchen and pool area. The bungalow is charming, comfortable, and spotlessly clean, in a natural setting just 3 minutes from Deshaies town.

This guesthouse is a great choice if you want a typical bungalow with the comforts you need, surrounded by nature, about 5 minutes from Deshaies village and close to idyllic beaches. Anne-Sophie, thanks for all the advice, warm welcome, and availability. You helped make the beginning of our stay in Guadeloupe perfect. And a big thumbs up for the avocados!!! 🙂
