Appartement design

The owner was quick to respond by phone, and the booking came together just 20 minutes after I called at the last minute to ask about availability. Getting in was easy too, with the key in a coded lockbox. The place is right in the city center on a quiet street, with plenty of shops within a three-minute walk. In an older building, the studio seems to have been renovated recently and was comfortable and reasonably clean. I did find a few long hairs, especially on the towel rack, and the floor could have been vacuumed better. I think the owner should hire more competent staff. The sofa-bed style bedding had a thick mattress, but it was softer than I like. The TV and Netflix weren't working. I think the platform may restrict screen sharing, though apparently you can ask the owner for the code sent to their email. Thanks for the stay, Thomas.

Avoid this place. The only thing I liked was the neighborhood, and at this price, a proper hotel would be a better choice. I came to Dieppe for a weekend to relax, but was extremely stressed before I even arrived. My train was delayed, and just two hours before I was due to get there, the owner nearly left me stranded, even though the listing said I could collect the keys on my own. The apartment was noisy, the bedding was poor quality and creaked, and using the kettle tripped the meter. I also felt the owner was very strict about the rules so he could get the deposit back. Horrible!

The host was quick to respond and available for questions. The apartment is also very well situated, so it's easy to explore the city on foot. There were several problems with the space and supplies, though. The second bedroom's bunk beds are in a very, very narrow room, something the photos don't show, and it seems suitable only for children, not adults. The mattress in the "master" bedroom wasn't good quality, and the bed linen, especially on the sofa beds, left a lot to be desired. There were stains and hair on mattress protectors that seemed never to have been washed. The fridge is tiny for eight people, and if your group is large, bring extra toilet paper. The two rolls provided on arrival weren't nearly enough.

The decor is nicely done, and the place is well located near the seafront with free parking. In general, everything else was good. Still, in such a quiet spot, small sounds carry. You can hear the TV from the apartment upstairs, even though it isn't loud, and the old wooden staircase makes noise too. The bathroom and toilet could use some work, with fewer pipes left exposed.
