Residence Des Arcades

We chose the hotel breakfast, and it was generous. Even though the hotel is central, it was very quiet at night. The location is opposite the tourist information office and near the dotto train and boat trip departures. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and we’ll consider staying here again. The only confusing part was that the checkout time on the website didn’t match the information at the hotel.

The manager is a lot of fun, and the food is superb. We felt very welcome, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. For the price, it’s very good value. I’d recommend it to anyone.

We went for lunch at the restaurant and most of the food was fantastic. There was a great selection of oysters, fish and meat dishes. The fresh cod roast was cooked sublimely, and the vegetables and steaks came with delicious fries. The fries were a little undercooked for a European or American palate, which is quite typical in France. Julian was a fantastic, gracious waiter, managing the whole dining room. The white tablecloths and wood panelling give the place an elegant feel. Highly recommended.

You couldn't ask for a better location, and the breakfast I had was excellent. I understand all the meals are just as good. The trouble for me was the lack of a lift and the many stairs up to the bedrooms.
