Hôtel le Thurot

The rooms are good, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere feels cozy. It’s close to the old city centre, with a supermarket about 200 metres away. I’ve stayed here six times now, and the value is hard to beat.

We got in at 23:30, though the doors close at 22:00, and the nicest man had stayed to greet us. I hadn’t had cell reception after leaving Italy, so I couldn’t tell them how late we’d be. I’d picked this place from a site listing pet-friendly hotels because we were travelling with four dogs. The room was clean and cozy, and the staff were so friendly. We barely got to see the town, but it looked adorable on the drive in.

The only downside for us was the extra 6 euros for parking, so keep that in mind. Otherwise, it was a really nice, safe and quiet place, and the room felt like home. It has the feel of a cozy old home with history, so don’t expect a fancy new room. The cleanliness was outstanding, and the cleaning staff did a great job. The young receptionist was charming and welcoming, which made check-in great.

We booked online easily and checked in on the way there. The staff were all lovely, and our family room was very spacious. It had air conditioning, a safe and blackout blinds, which I especially liked. There’s a bar and restaurant with reasonable prices, and town is just a 10-minute walk away. Secure parking is available for €7, though street parking has a fee too. I’d recommend it.
