Hôtel Philippe le Bon

Breakfast was excellent, with homemade pancakes and crepes, fruit purées, eggs, smoked salmon, pastries and plenty more. Brice at reception was amazing, kind and really helpful. He gave us good museum and dining suggestions and even printed a seat reservation for us. Our comfortable, characterful standard room was on the second floor, facing the road. Traffic and pedestrians kept me awake until midnight, and building work started at 7:30am. We also ate in the restaurant and enjoyed the food, but waited 40 minutes between the main course and dessert. A great stay in many ways, though the outside noise and dinner delay took away from it.

The hotel’s built around an old historic building, with interesting features including the courtyard. There’s a pleasant garden seating area with parasols between the old buildings and the modern block, and the staff are happy to talk about the hotel’s history. We stayed four nights and found the place quiet, clean and well equipped. Both standard and privilege rooms had water, a kettle, coffee maker, hairdryer and a decent rainfall shower. The air conditioning was efficient and quiet, much appreciated in the recent 35C+ heat. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and I’d gladly stay again.

Brice was a real character and such a big part of the hotel’s charm. He was attentive, helpful, funny and charming, and made our stay memorable. We felt right at home in this warm, welcoming place. It was a peaceful, character-filled hotel and just right for our family. I’d recommend it to families or anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

Brice greeted us at check-in and even took our bags up to the room. He was warm and helpful. We spent two nights here in Dijon and loved the hotel, which was clean, very nice and full of character. The room was clean and pleasant too. We had wine and charcuterie in the bar, plus breakfast both mornings, and everything was delicious. The location worked really well for enjoying Dijon.
