There was a blocked toilet drain and an unbearable smell. The mattress, mattress protector, and both pillows in the main bedroom were disgusting. You could hear everything through the apartment walls.

The lack of sound insulation made it feel as if we were sharing a room with all the other tenants. Cleanliness was patchy, and the wardrobe and bed felt so unstable that we thought they might collapse more than once. The price is competitive, but we've stayed in much better places for the same budget. We arrived late on Saturday for Easter weekend, and when we made the bed, the mattress was dirty and clearly needed a good vacuum. The pillows were worn, with stuffing coming out. That evening, we found ants by the fridge. Once we moved it, there were thousands of them, along with disgusting dirt. We cleaned up and tried to get rid of the ants using the provided vacuum, which was itself full of dirt and grime, so I had to clean it first. I called the call center on Sunday morning. They passed the information to the Dinard agency and called me back to say they would let me know about a possible visit to clean and deal with the ants. I heard nothing until we handed over the keys, when they told me I should get an ant bomb myself. Seriously, with our 13-month-old in the apartment, was I supposed to use a bomb full of toxic chemicals? The four-night stay was very disappointing.

The apartment has plenty of space, plus a private terrace and a shared garden for everyone in the residence. We booked the small Robinson 5, which is meant to sleep six, but were disappointed by the amenities. The place needs to be cleaner, and the equipment could do with an upgrade.

I've stayed in this area twice now, and I'm happy with the accommodation. I highly recommend the area around Dinard.
