Le Clos Des Rêves

The cottage was in great shape and had everything we needed, so we felt comfortable there. It was especially peaceful and quiet. Our host welcomed us warmly when we arrived and stayed attentive and available during our visit. We had a wonderful weekend in this charming place.

The €1500 security deposit check led to a dispute with Mr. Ollier, though it has thankfully been resolved. I had reported a broken glass and carafe, plus a damaged plastic tablecloth, in good faith, but was charged €285 for them. Make sure to note everything down. The property itself is beautiful, with charming bedrooms and comfortable bedding, and it has a lot of potential. Some upkeep is needed outside: the pool wasn't fully clean, and the outdoor furniture and BBQ were dirty. The kitchen is well-equipped, though some dishes are dated and cracked. We booked Mr. Ollier's property for a weekend celebrating my husband's 40th birthday. We followed the rules, including no smoking inside and no loud music after a certain hour. We moved to the garage, which was kindly provided free of charge, thankfully, as it was an extra charge included in the initial price. We left the place spotless, in better condition than when we arrived.

There was nothing to complain about. The hosts were warm and kind, and their cultural knowledge added to the welcome. The house and garden were lovely, the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, and there was a pool. Breakfast with fresh local produce, served under the trees, felt magical. A peaceful, restorative stay, and we were treated like royalty.

The only small suggestion is a lock on one of the bathrooms, since it connects through two doors :) We had a wonderful weekend with friends at this magnificent building. It was spacious and peaceful, well-appointed, well-equipped, and very well-furnished. We all slept well, and the surroundings were pleasant. We were there for a friend's bachelor party, and with everyone scattered across France and beyond, it was just the kind of roomy, quiet place we wanted. Mr. Ollier was lovely. He welcomed us, made the cottage available, and spent time chatting with us about the world. We really enjoyed that.
