We hadn’t planned to visit this part of France, but our road trip to Normandy brought us here, and we’re so glad it did. Watching the evening sunlight fall across the farms while harvesters worked hard bringing in the wheat felt magical. The converted farm is surrounded by impressive working flower and vegetable gardens, and the property is beautifully maintained. Our room was cozy and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was a real spread: homemade yogurt, fresh cheeses and juice, different breads, crepes, and more. The proprietors were welcoming and accommodating, even though we booked at the last minute. They invited us to join the other guests for dinner, but because we’d booked late, we chose to eat in a nearby town. Highly recommend.

The gite owners were really helpful, and the property was first class. It’s a lovely, peaceful spot about an hour from Calais, with plenty to see, from war-related sites to natural places like the Somme. There’s also a great boulanger and charcuterie in the next village.

We stayed in very nice gîtes in a lovingly restored old farmhouse, surrounded by quiet countryside. Breakfast was tasty, especially the homemade jams.
