La Maison De Marie-Claire

The hostess was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious, and breakfast was excellent. A really authentic French place.

Dinner and breakfast were both very good, and sharing them around a big table with two Dutch couples made for a really enjoyable evening. The house has a lovely garden on a large property in the village, and I got a very warm welcome for my one-night stop on a cycling trip along the Meuse River. I stayed in the "Suite Sérénité" upstairs, with a bedroom, a large separate bathroom, and a separate toilet. I'd booked and paid for the stay and dinner in advance. The atmosphere was friendly and the visit was very pleasant. I could keep my e-bike in the adjoining building and charge it there, which was perfect. Wi-Fi was available but a bit unreliable. My only complaint was that the sink and shower fixtures were very stiff, so four stars rather than five.

We arrived after a long day of travel and felt at home right away. The evening meal was delicious and genuinely French, and breakfast was generous and tasty too. Marie Claire was a fantastic hostess, the rooms and beds were excellent, and it was lovely to unwind in the garden. Doncourt is peaceful, and the place is so close to the highway. We'll definitely come back.

The bathroom in the apartment was spacious, warm, and inviting, and a relaxing visit there left me refreshed the next morning. It feels like a shame to stay at Marie-Claire's House for just one night. The whole place has a warm, welcoming feel, with a cozy fireplace in winter and a generous breakfast. It also feels like home, and the layout takes young children into account. Whether you're traveling alone, as a couple, or with family, it's easy to feel at home and get a restful night's sleep. Bravo!
