A lovely spot for a family get-together or a vacation.

The bay window has a gorgeous view, and there’s a pool table and ping-pong. But that’s about where the positives end for us. The garden is tiny and not very inviting. Neighbors can see in, and the big hedge blocks the only side that might have had a sea view. The terrace was dirty and covered in cobwebs. Some outdoor lights couldn’t be reached, and one bedroom window was boarded up. The beds are too narrow for two people, under 140 cm, so they’re not really suitable for a couple, never mind sharing with friends. All the darts in the basement game were broken. The sauna is gloomy and tucked at the back of the cellar. One of its three heaters didn’t work, and it took 40 minutes to warm up. The extra charges made the place feel overpriced for what it offers. We had to pay for sheets and for someone to put them on, plus €100 per day for the jacuzzi, which felt outrageous given the lack of maintenance during our stay. The cleaning fee was much higher than on other platforms, and the tourist tax had to be paid separately in advance. Right after we paid for the villa, they sent an unexplained payment link that seemed pointless. There was also a hostile message threatening to hold back the security deposit if we didn’t take out the trash or make noise, even though taking out the trash is apparently expected. What kind of hospitality is that? It feels like everything is about adding charges. They even said the tourist tax could go up if it wasn’t paid within 30 days of arrival. Wi-Fi, incredibly, is free. We were extremely disappointed with the all-in price, and won’t be back to "La Casa des Gros Rats" (The Big Rats' House).

We’ve never been disappointed with the service from La Clef de Camp. The basement was great for pool, ping-pong, and other games, and we especially enjoyed the fireplace, which worked perfectly since it rained during our stay. The house sits on a hill, so you get a lovely sea view.

There were lots of games at the house, and being able to check in early on our own made it easy to enjoy the stay. It’s a beautiful, spacious place with open sea views. The owners were quick to answer all my questions by email and text, including the ones about the jacuzzi.
