Welcome Hotel

We stayed at welcome hotel for more than 10 days after a road accident. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, and breakfast was perfect. The staff were very helpful, sometimes going above and beyond to support us. Language was a little difficult at times, but that never stopped them from helping. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

The furnishings are smart, but the rushed hard-decor finish looks poor next to the overall look they were aiming for. Breakfast was plentiful, but an inconsiderate customer had left the cooked breakfast lid off, so it was cold by the time we got there. Staff were always around, but didn’t seem to think anything of the cold food. Our three-bed room wasn’t ready because they told our guide they didn’t do one, even though we’d booked it. We waited an hour and a half for a clean but basic room. We’d booked a different hotel, then saw this was a Best Westen on arrival and thought it would be good. The assistant manager came in to sort out our issue and was very pleasant, but I wouldn’t stay here again. I don’t normally complain or leave low ratings, but this was a bit poor during our tour of WWI and WWII sites in Belgium and France.

The bed was clean and comfortable, and there was a fixed shower over the bath. Breakfast was basic but adequate, though the in-house bar was closed the night I stayed. It’s a clean, basic 3-star hotel in a convenient spot near the main square and restaurants. The lift to the upper floors is somewhat dated, and the table lamp and one bedside light didn’t work.

I forgot a sentimental lighter, and the team mailed it to my home. Excellent service, and thanks to you all. The room was clean and had everything I needed, with a great location in Dunkirk. Breakfast was decent, and the staff were friendly, which really ties the place together.
