The owners were just lovely, and the food was fantastic. Our room was big and spacious, too. It was still welcoming pilgrims when we were there. I’m not sure why another reviewer said it wasn’t, since everyone staying there seemed to be a pilgrim. A great stop on Le Chemin.

We came for a proper rest and found real quiet and peace in this Logis hotel, tucked away outside the village. Even the farm tractors seemed quiet. They welcomed us warmly and the home-cooked food was excellent. Breakfast, snacks through the day, wine, beer, and evening meals were all available. Just remember, it’s on a pilgrimage route.

Good food, and the owners were friendly.

We were walking to Compostela with our two children, and Durfort had nothing open by the time we needed to eat, so we felt we had no choice but to feed them there. At lunch, the owner helped us out with a ham dish straight from the pot, but charged us €40. There were no drinks, not even syrup, no dessert, and we cleared the table ourselves. Dinner was overpriced too for basic home cooking and small portions. The hotel itself is quite expensive for what it offers, aging, and the facade needs refreshing. The hoteliers seemed a little out of touch with reality, perhaps because of their age or an idealized view of what the hotel used to be compared with today. The hotel was completely empty, but we weren't offered a room change. We would have preferred the cooler first floor instead of the second floor under the roof, where it was like a furnace, and our room was full of mosquitoes. Watch out for tourist tax being charged for minors and for not getting proper invoices. We couldn't find prices posted anywhere, and there were no restaurant or drinks menus, so the bill can come with unpleasant surprises. Move on.

The meal was delicious, and the owners were very friendly. This beautiful hotel is right on the Way of St. James, and the building has been welcoming pilgrims for 65 years. We were given a very warm welcome.
