Stopped in for a beer. The staff were good and friendly.

We had a very pleasant evening in a friendly, youthful atmosphere. The restaurant has recently reopened and serves simple dishes made only with fresh ingredients. The meat was delicious. For a night, a stopover, or a longer stay, the hotel has 16 rooms and welcomes guests coming for nearby spa treatments.

The owners have changed, and the place has changed with them. Service was awful and completely unprofessional, almost embarrassing. The food didn’t seem fresh. As other reviews say, maybe the owners have never had real duck confit or Landes salad. It tasted like decent canned food at best. We were glad we didn’t spend our whole paycheck there. If you liked the old restaurant or just like good food, you may as well eat at home. Amateurish, or simply unprofessional? Either way, it was bad across the board, and it’s a shame to see this place ruined. Katia from Périgord says they’re young, but one waitress looked about 10 or 12 years old. I chuckle at the idea that you can tell food is fresh just by tasting it. A refrigerator doesn’t guarantee freshness, quite the opposite. I was a student, so I have nothing against canned food, but I know what it tastes like. And that many duck gizzards on one plate is suspicious. Maybe you’re naive, or maybe you’re the waitress who made such a show when we asked for TWO scoops of ice cream, with chocolate among the three flavors, and she said, “But I have to go down to the storeroom.” I’ll say it again, this place is unsettling. It depends what you’re after. Yes, you’re a snack bar, nothing more. I rarely comment, but seeing all these sycophantic reviews after being so disappointed, I wanted to warn people like me away. I don’t eat at five-star restaurants, but I don’t like being taken for a fool. Very dishonest, Madam Périgord. I’m calling you out now. You supposedly work there as a waitress and comment to give your opinion, but you quoted me. I recognize your style. Do what you want, but don’t try to deceive people. You’re already deceiving them about the food.

The room had mold on the walls and a paper-thin partition. Bar tables hadn’t been wiped before we were served. The meal was huge but lacked finesse, and the wait felt endless. Breakfast was ordinary, nothing special, yet cost €10. This hotel was the only one available, so we stayed, but regretted not going back down to the valley.
