What a shame. In all my time living in France, this was the first place that wouldn't let me bring my extremely friendly Labrador into the restaurant on a wet, windy day. They did me a favor in the end, though, since I found a non-touristy restaurant just down the road. Thanks. See my other review if you want a proper French meal and experience.

We had a really good lunch here in early October. It was busy, but they got us seated and served quickly. We don't speak much French, and everyone was kind to us. The food was good too, and the salade gasconne was just what I was after.

Le Café de France was our regular spot over our 2 night/3 day stay in Eauze. We tried breakfast, lunch and dinner, and every meal was superb. Sitting in the lovely sheltered outdoor area was our favorite, with the restaurant right on the main square and a great view of people passing by. The owner was always working whenever we came in, and he has a fantastic team. The servers were friendly, attentive and efficient. Lunch's 'menu du jour' and the more elaborate dinner menu were both top quality. We loved it. Don't miss it.

After two weeks traveling through rural communities along the Via Podiensis, we found the most expensive wine and beer we'd come across: a possible 3-ounce pour of wine for 4.20€, and a standard 0.5 liter draft beer for 8.70€. We'd been paying 3€ for wine and 5-6€ for the same beer. There was nothing special about the place, and the prices were super high.

Not pilgrim-friendly. For a town on a pilgrim route, you'd expect at least some finger food when the kitchen's closed, given the disastrous opening hours. I went at 15:00 o'clock and was ignored for 10 minutes. The staff were unfriendly.
