Village Vacances Le Lac

We stayed for a week as a group of 55. The meals were hearty, good quality, and made on site. Staff were available to the guests and gave us a very warm welcome. Breakfast was a little challenging, with just one person serving 70-80 people in the restaurant. Alain and Olivier were excellent hiking guides, and Philippe also deserves a mention for the entertainment.

The setting is nice, and in summer the Blue Flag lake right below the village is a welcome feature. But I was quite disappointed with our rental. The cottage felt dated, and its bathroom was still under construction, with holes in the walls. The shower column was much too high: the top jets hit above my head, even though I’m 1.74m tall. The whole village needs refreshing and a good clean.

The atmosphere that week was amazing, and there were lots of great places to visit nearby, plus a kids’ club. It was fantastic, and one of my best vacation weeks in a long time. A special mention to the staff. There were a few things that could be better: the Wi-Fi was down, the parents had single beds, and the meals could improve.

A peaceful, relaxing walk around the lake takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. It’s a lovely outing for the family, with a children’s playground, a volleyball net, and space to play pétanque. Bring your dog along, they’ll love it.
