The breakfast buffet was a real highlight, with excellent local ingredients, and the food at dinner was sensational too, though very expensive as you’d expect. The rooms are small but lovely, and the views are breathtaking if you book one with a view. The spa looked good, but we didn’t realize it had to be booked in advance, so we missed out. It’s a very nice little hotel with a comfortable feel, though also quite pretentious. I enjoyed the stay, but something’s missing to make it feel like a true five-star spa hotel.

The window had an absolutely astonishing view in the morning, and the hotel felt very cozy. Breakfast on the lovely terrace was great, and the pool and jacuzzi were included in the room price. The only small drawback was that the blanket felt too small for two. Apart from that, it was a really cool experience.

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and tasteful decor, and the breakfast is generous. For €20 per person per day, there’s a full spread, including omelets made to order from the menu. We stayed two nights, and the location earned about 3.5 stars from us for its views and vibe. Dinner was a letdown. The menu takes basic dishes and gives them a slightly elegant presentation, maybe to match what people expect from dining in France. One evening we both ordered medium burgers, but they came well done with small patties, dry salad without dressing or olive oil, and undercooked fries. We mentioned it to the staff, who offered to take the €30 dinner, including starters and desserts, off the bill. The steak and pork fillets we had the other night were okay, but not worth what they cost. The place has a lot of potential, but the kitchen needs a standout dish to lift the experience. Some charges feel out of place for a premium setting, like €5 for boiled water for tea and €3 to rent a pool towel. Better attention to hospitality and food quality would really improve things.

Six colleagues and I stayed here the week just gone, from the 21st to the 24th of January. On our first evening together, we ate at the restaurant and ordered three Cote de Boeuf to share between seven, with potatoes and salad. That turned out to be a serious mistake. The food handling or ingredient selection seemed poor, because every one of my colleagues got food poisoning, with varying levels of severity. We only realized the next day, after working in Monaco that morning. On the drive back, two of us became so ill we had to book an emergency hotel to rest and use the facilities. We were both in considerable pain and couldn’t work as planned, which ultimately cost us money. We tried to alert the hotel, both about what happened to us and our concern for other guests, in case there was a wider issue such as a viral outbreak. They seemed apathetic. We emailed our concerns and still hadn’t received a reply as of Tuesday 27th January. We’d stayed at this hotel several times over the last couple of years, but won’t return. They either have a dangerous approach to food handling or ingredient choice, and seem not to care about either. Terrible.

We were a couple on a four-day vacation, and our stay was a real mix. We’d originally planned one or two nights, but bad weather during our travels kept us here for four. The staff offered a discount for the extra nights, which was a nice surprise, and upgraded us on arrival from a 10m2 room to a 12m2 one for free. Still, €100-120 feels expensive for such a small room. The setting, lobby, and terrace views are stunning, and we loved seeing the mountains from bed. The rooms were small but cozy, the staff friendly and polite, and they spoke English well. Breakfast was great, and we really appreciated the sauna, though there was no cold shower or dip to cool off afterward. The restaurant was a joke for a four-star hotel at this price. You can eat much better for less in town, including at some amazing places just a 15-minute walk away. The beef I ordered was so tough it was like chewing a shoe. The main course salad was a random mix with no thought behind it, and the bread was stale. We ate there only once. I’d rather get a kebab than have dinner there again. Hot water was another issue. On the first day it was lukewarm. After we complained it got warmer, but never really hot, and on the last day it was cold again. We didn’t mind too much, and were refunded €50 for that final day without warm water, but a hot shower after hiking would have been nice. The bathroom sink leaked a little, leaving it with a bad smell. We didn’t report it, so perhaps it could’ve been fixed, but it shouldn’t have been an issue in a supposed four-star hotel. Housekeeping also fell short: even with the sign out, our soggy used towels weren’t replaced. There was barely enough toilet paper for two healthy adults, so we had to use our own, and the tea and coffee weren’t replenished. There’s no minibar, and the main bar closes early. The TV only has regular channels and no internet, so streaming from a private account or screen mirroring isn’t possible. In 2025, hotel TVs should have internet access for services like Netflix. The Wi-Fi was slow too. The room was tiny, had no ventilation or AC, and sleeping with the window shut wasn’t an option. But with no mosquito nets, opening it meant getting eaten alive. There were lots of blood splashes on the walls from mosquitoes previous guests had killed. I can’t imagine staying there in summer. We might return for the views and atmosphere, but only if these problems are fixed or the price comes down significantly.
