A great room and lovely hosts in an awesome location. This is the place to stay for a taste of authentic provincial France.

The owners were kind and helpful, and the place was clean and comfortable. It's right in the city centre and very nice.

In the heart of the old village, with very friendly hosts.

The building is from around the 15th century, made of beautiful, solid wood, and the owner's mother hand-embroidered the stunning bedspreads. I stayed for one night about four years ago. With no good hotels near Conques, I picked this one without expecting much, but it turned out to be memorable. My husband's family had a wedding photo taken in Scotland, wearing kilts. As the first Japanese guest, I found communication difficult, but I think the photos got my point across. Getting there is inconvenient, so you'll need a car. Even so, I'd highly recommend it for a one-night stay.

We were already impressed standing before the ancient entrance at La Porte Valette. The house and courtyard added to that lovely first impression. The English/South African couple gave us a warm welcome, and the rooms were very clean, cosy and nicely furnished. Breakfast was very good too! :-)
