Kyriad Annecy Nord - Epagny

I’m giving it a 3 instead of a 2 because the receptionist was really nice. We’d had a huge problem finding a hotel and were lucky to find this one, where the receptionist held a room for us. The photos made it seem like it was near the lake, but it’s not at all. There was a spider in the bathtub and plenty of dust by the bed. Being right by the highway is both a plus and a minus. Overall, it was less than okay.

The air-conditioned room was a real help in the heat wave, and we got a good night’s sleep. We had a nice stay and enjoyed the lovely breakfast.

My parents booked two nights so they could visit family nearby. On the second night, their room card stopped working, and with reception closed overnight they couldn’t get any help. They had to find somewhere else to stay without their clothes or other necessities. When they told the staff the next morning, they were rude and suggested that people their age usually managed to find help in that situation. That makes me think this happens quite often. They didn’t apologize or offer any compensation for the trouble. Please avoid this place at any cost.

The breakfast really delivered on what the receptionist had promised: loads of choice, plenty to eat, and genuinely excellent. The welcome was warm too, with an attentive, smiling team. The room was simple, but clean and comfortable, with everything needed for a good night’s sleep. I give the Kyriad Hotel five stars because giving less just isn’t my style. It’s a basic, functional stay with a very pleasant welcome and a breakfast that earns those five stars.
