We had escargots and beef steaks with a nice wine, and it made for a lovely experience that felt worth the money. The whole place has a light vintage feel, with nostalgic French music, and the staff were super friendly and accommodating with us.

The staff were so welcoming and kind to us, and really went out of their way to make things comfortable for us with our child and dog. The dining room had a nice feel, though it seemed a bit dated. Those two stars are for the staff alone, because the meal was a huge disappointment. The champagne itself was enjoyable, though they poured different amounts for my wife and me, and her glass barely had 100 ml. We waited over 30 minutes between courses, and the menu cost €75/person. It felt like a rip off. Honestly, I wouldn't have paid even €20/person for that meal. The pavlova was the only decent part for me. My wife's chocolate eclair was far too sweet, while our son's scoop of chocolate ice cream was the best dessert of the lot. Earlier, her meal had been a slice of cauliflower and our son was charged for a plain hamburger patty. My chicken with potatoes seemed like it came out of an air fryer, and was tough and hard to eat. None of those dishes was seasoned or cooked well. The starters were bad too. The small foie gras portion came with something that tasted just like baby cereal. The low quality oysters had bits of shell throughout, making them hard to eat. It's honestly been a long time since I've had food this disappointing. We also had the chicken as the main course, and it was the worst dish of the meal.

Had a great lunch, with lovely service. The boudin blanc tart was impressive, and the chocolate profiteroles were to die for.

The salmon was finally replaced with a tender, nice piece, and thank you for sorting that out. The first one had such a hard outside that my first bite was dry and crunchy. I asked my boyfriend to try it too, still wondering if I was just being picky, but he looked upset after tasting it and immediately asked the staff to change it. The replacement came with sauce only in the little cup, though. The first plate, which was sent back, had sauce under the fish as well as more in the cup. The spring salad starter was shocking for something around 13 euros. It was just a few cucumbers, raw slices of mushrooms (we hadn't known mushrooms could be eaten raw), a couple of other bits and a few drops of sauce we couldn't identify. It was simple and tasteless. The side salad with the main could have been bigger or more varied too. Maybe that's normal locally, but it seemed below standard to us. The room had a classical French style, though it didn't look like the Google Maps photos. A staff member's child was running around when we arrived, which caught us by surprise. The receptionist was very friendly, but seated us literally half a meter from another couple even though the hall had plenty of empty tables. We didn't ask to move because we assumed the others might be reserved. We should have asked: only one other table was occupied during our stay, and sitting so close in a quiet, mostly empty dining room felt uncomfortable. The staff were very friendly, but we're sorry the overall experience disappointed us.

The mashed potatoes on both our plates and the presentation of the entrees were the best parts of the meal. The restaurant is beautiful inside, with tremendous ambiance, and we'd gone in with high expectations based on earlier reviews. But the house brand champagne was a 3/5 at best. My wife’s flambe prawns arrived barely warm, cold by the last bite, and overcooked. My shredded duck was okay, but probably the least tasty duck I've ever had.
