The listing was seriously misleading. The photos gave a very inaccurate impression, and the property felt really dated. Even the kitchen walls were just plaster and hadn’t been painted. We checked in, then left straight away, which cut our holiday short and cost me extra money to book the Eurotunnel home. Picking up the keys also meant a 5 km trip to the owner. Once the problems came up, I found the owner rude. For what it cost, this was overpriced and not child-friendly.

Beautiful cottage, and we had an amazing weekend. We’ll go back.

The cottage was clean and nicely decorated, and it had everything needed for young children. Parking was a struggle, though. You’re allowed to use the restaurant car park across the road, but during peak season there often isn’t a space. The bus stop right outside also brings noise.

Caps Park is extraordinary for hiking, but we won’t be staying at this gîte again, even though we’ll return to the area. The place needs work for future guests: there was no vacuum, clothes pegs, or cleaning kit, the garden gate was broken, and the bins weren’t insulated. A vent on the garden side blows out very hot, smelly air, which seemed quite unsuitable with a young child. Parking was very difficult too. There’s no bakery or grocery store, and getting to the beach on foot with a stroller or by bicycle is very difficult, with little to no access. Such a shame.

The location is great and it’s a pleasant place to stay, though a few things could be improved.
