The hosts were charming and very helpful. The bedroom was spotless and beautifully presented, with a warm, comfortable bed. The shower had strong pressure and plenty of hot water. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and would highly recommend it.

The set menu was pretty meager for both food and drinks. Our room was small and had a partial power outage, and they put the welcome tray in the bathroom beside the toilet, which felt very unhygienic. The pool was cold and barely a pool, right next to the living room. The owners could be pleasant, when they wanted to be.

Breakfast was a treat, with local and homemade items, and the comfortable rooms are tastefully decorated and peaceful. Villa Rose in Escolives-Sainte-Camille feels like a haven, with a warm, friendly welcome that makes you feel at home straight away. It's a quiet place to recharge close to nature. I highly recommend it for a pleasant stay.

I booked one night here after reading so many reviews about the warm welcome, but that wasn't my experience at all. I won't get into the details; the person who greeted me can describe the atmosphere from my arrival through to my departure. What really upset me was a painting in the breakfast area. The image felt inappropriate, shocking, and frankly offensive, and it made me very uncomfortable. I won't come back.
