Claire and Joe are such friendly hosts, and the house feels like home. This charming little maison dates from 1780 and was renovated by them in 2018. The rooms are spacious, bright, and nicely decorated, and breakfast is incredible, with fresh food and jams Claire makes from fruit grown in the garden. There are vineyard trails for running and cycling, plus a lovely clear lake for a swim on hot days. I'll definitely be back, highly recommended.

We spent four lovely days at La Maison de Espiet and are already hoping to return in June. My husband and I were visiting near Bordeaux, and the location worked perfectly. The house is easy to find, close to the road, and surrounded by a large garden with a beautiful view. We had a very comfortable room downstairs: clean and spacious, with a large bed and a roomy en suite bathroom. It was warm inside even in late February. Jo and Claire were charming proprietors and patiently helped with all our questions. Breakfast was delicious and set us up well for the day.

The room had a lovely French style, a comfortable bed, and a new bathroom. Claire and Jo were very accommodating, and breakfast was excellent. It's a peaceful spot near Bordeaux and St Emilion. I loved staying here and would happily come back.

We had a wonderful stay thanks to Claire and Joe, who were incredibly welcoming and helpful with everything. The house was laid back, and they offered local information, restaurant suggestions, and advice on anything else we needed. We were asking a lot since we're planning a move to the area. Breakfast was fresh, plentiful, local, and always more than we could eat; coffee was available whenever we wanted. Our ground-floor room wasn't huge, but stayed cool on hot days. The enormous, peaceful garden was a much nicer place to spend time, with hammocks, lounge chairs, and tables for working. The atmosphere with the other guests was lovely too. The one nuisance was the mosquitoes that are common in the region at this time of year, which isn't anyone's fault. Highly recommend it if you want to unwind away from the city buzz.

We were lucky enough to be there for the opening weekend, and the hosts went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The B&B is beautiful, the bed was heavenly, and the shower was fantastic. It feels tucked away and restful, yet roads to the nearby towns and Chateau are close enough that you don't feel stranded. Breakfast was lovely, with lots of continental options and cooked eggs available if you'd like them. I'd strongly recommend staying here, especially in summer. You'll need a car, or a bicycle if you're feeling fit.
