We really enjoyed eating outside in the good weather, and the evening meal was super. Breakfast was excellent too, with lots of choice and plenty of good-quality food. The fresh croissants were lovely. Our room was smart and very clean, and Gary and Amanda made us feel welcome from the start. Nothing was too much trouble. Combrailleurs is a great base for exploring the Auvergne, with Puy de Dôme, Vichy and Clermont Ferrand about an hour away. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a great stay. The gîte is spacious and peaceful, with a lovely family kitchen and a cosy fireplace. Gary and Amanda gave us a really warm welcome. Thanks, guys!

The location worked well for exploring the area, and Gary and Amanda know plenty of places to visit and eat. They clearly care about their guests. Would I stay here again? O yes, without hesitation. We were six people in three rooms for four nights in July. Finding the B&B was easy enough, though when leaving Google Maps tried to send us up a farm track. Turn left out of the B&B, not right! The rooms were spotless, with a good-sized bed, wardrobe, two bedside cabinets and a large bathroom and toilet with a superb shower. The room was more than adequate for sleeping, washing and getting dressed. My one small gripe was the heat in the room. I mentioned it to Gary, who took it on board and was going to look into getting a small fan, though the heat was exceptional. There are sunbeds, a grassy garden and a temporary pool. After a hot, exhausting mountain hike, with the temperature over 40C, getting into the pool carefully was a lifesaver. There are quite a few flies in this largely farming and cattle region. They were annoying at first, but we soon got used to them and just waved them away now and then. Breakfast is a typical continental spread, so no bacon and eggs, but plenty of fresh fruit, juice, ham, cheese and croissants, plus English tea. On arrival, Gary and his wife Amanda showed us to our rooms, then invited us downstairs to the dining area and out into the garden for a well-earned cold beer. Staying here deserves 5 stars, and I'd happily recommend it.

The accommodation is stunning, and the hosts are friendly. If you want a place to stay while exploring France's volcanic region, this is it. Can't go wrong 👌💪👍

We found plenty of things to do within an hour's drive, and the place itself was beautiful for a family weekend. Comfortable and very well equipped!
