Le Vieux Logis de la Galocherie

We’ve stayed in lots of places like this, and this is one of my favourites. Cécile and her husband are lovely, pleasant hosts, and the room was spacious and clean, with a nice mix of modern and traditional touches. The building has plenty of character and everything felt very comfortable. There’s a swimming pool and a huge, peaceful property, though we didn’t get to enjoy the grounds because we were visiting Puy du Fou and had to head off on the next part of our trip. I wish we’d had time. Breakfast was simply perfect, with fresh, high-quality homemade food and as much as we wanted. Exceptional really. Peace and quiet are part of the appeal here. The place feels intimate and welcoming, with history for the adults and a big swimming pool families will appreciate. The homemade breakfast is high quality, too. It works for a quick stop, a break, or a longer stay in the Vendée region. If you’re not planning a picnic, restaurants are about 10-15 minutes away.

We slept really well during our night here with the children, before heading to Puy du Fou. It’s a lovely house with great decor, and there were books and board games available. The hosts were kind and welcoming, and breakfast was excellent. That homemade lemon poppy seed cake gets a 10/10!

The hosts were charming and engaging, and treated us to a superb meal from beginning to end. The house itself is such a cozy little haven, and we felt at home right away. Our spacious rooms were tastefully decorated, the beds were comfortable, and it was completely quiet. Everything was perfect. Thank you for it all. We’ll be back in the warmer months to enjoy your lovely garden.
