We got a table easily by arriving right when they opened, and they warmly welcomed us and our dog. The food was simple and fairly plain, but there was plenty of it and it tasted really good. We’d tried calling to book, as the answering machine suggested, but nobody picked up and there was no way to leave a message. Still, it was a pleasant meal.

The moules frites are a must. Even the famous places along the coast don’t compare, and the sauce is so good that locals take it away on its own, practically to drink. I thought I didn’t like mussels, but this place changed my mind. Andrew makes the bread himself, and he’s an experienced baker. Caroline and Andrew are wonderful owner hosts at this favorite Evran restaurant, just steps from the famous canals of the Rance River and close to Dinan. It’s a great stop after walking by the canal or swimming at Lake Bétineuc. Lunch or dinner, anything you order will be amazing. The service feels like home, kind, cozy, and relaxing. Caroline is so sweet and caring. They speak French and English, welcome dogs, and have terrace picnic table seating, cider, beer, wine, and a children’s menu. Hidden gem insider alert!

Andrew and Christine were friendly, helpful hosts, and clearly handy in the kitchen. The food was amazing, with vegetarian options, and the welcome was so warm. It’s well placed for trips to St Malo, Dinan, Dinard, or exploring nearby. We’d absolutely recommend coming for food and drink, a visit, or an overnight stay. The big plus for us was how dog friendly it is. Our dog felt as welcome as we did.

Andrew's gourmet burger was fab, the best burger I’ve ever had 😋 The other menu options look delicious too, and the desserts look yum. Give this little treasure in the heart of Evran village a try.
